  • Thoroughly defrost freezers prior to storage as the water from melted ice can ruin your stored possessions.

  • Leave refrigerator or freezer doors open to aid ventilation.

  • Ensure that dishwashers and washing machines are drained of all water as water can seep out into your unit if the appliances are not fully drained.

  • Fill boxes to capacity,partially full or bulging boxes may tip or collapse.

  • Heavy items should be packed into small boxes so that they are easy to lift.

  • Label or number boxes for easy reference when you need to locate your goods.

  • Make up an inventory of your stored items and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

  • Dishes or glasses should be wrapped in paper or bubble wrap before storing.
